Why You Might Not Have Been Accepted to a Lynx Collective Event

At Lynx Collective, our mission is to support NYC’s startup ecosystem through talks, workshops, and networking events. Thanks to our generous sponsors, these events are completely free to attendees. However, demand often exceeds capacity by 6-10X, which means we’re unable to accommodate everyone who requests an invitation.

Here are a few reasons why your RSVP may not have been accepted:

  • Limited Space: We simply can’t accommodate every qualified attendee due to space constraints. This is typically the reason for most declines. For example: For a recent founder event, we had 350 people apply for 40 spots.

  • Event Relevance: The event may target a specific audience (e.g., AI founders), and your profile doesn’t align with that focus.

  • Incomplete Information: If we didn’t have enough details in your RSVP, it’s harder for us to determine if you’re a fit for the event. You increase your chances of acceptance by providing thoughtful responses.

  • No-Show History: If you previously RSVP’d but didn’t attend or canceled last minute, we prioritize others who consistently honor their RSVPs.

  • Host or Sponsor Request: Occasionally, a co-host or sponsor may request specific RSVP approvals, which could impact our decision.

  • Rotation for New Attendees: If you’ve attended recent events, we might prioritize new attendees to ensure broader access to our programming.

Lynx Collective is largely a volunteer-driven effort and cannot respond to each inquiry about event attendance. We appreciate your understanding as we strive to create opportunities for as many people as possible.

Thank you for your interest and support!

Warm regards,
The Lynx Collective Team
